The first five people to respond to this post, will get some form of art, by me, about them. I make no guarantees about quality or type, but I will assure that I will give it good effort and that the art will be individual to you, so if you get a mixed CD, a dirty limerick, some sort of painting , or perhaps some origami, or anything else yours is the only one like it.
The only catch, of course; as with most memes, if you sign up, you have to put this in your own journal as well.

I know this sounds dumb and very paranoid, but ever since this one friend of mine told me a story about her brother nearly dying because he almost didnt get his appendix out in time, I've been freaked out whenever I have a pain in my side where my appendix is. I know it doesn't just happen out of the blue, or maybe it does, but I have this fucking terrible pain that hit me sometime this afternoon during training. It won't go away no matter what I do, and I'm really nervous. It's throbbing like crazy and I wasn't even hungry tonight. I've taken asprin, rubbed it (I know that sounds dirty, but whatever), and just tried to stretch to get rid of the pain, but nothing. It's not like I stretched it out doing meditation during training or lifting because it just started hurting and now it's hard for me to get to sleep.

Just for my own peace of mind, has anyone had an experience with their appendix or something that they thought was appendicitis that was something else? Obviously, if it continues for the next day or two and gets worse, I guess I'll get tests done or something.

Happy Birthday to me, right?

Peace and love .... and health,
Brooke

I never knew
I never knew that everything was falling through
That everyone I knew was waiting on a queue
To turn and run when all I needed was the truth
But that's how it's got to be
It's coming down to nothing more than apathy
I'd rather run the other way than stay and see
The smoke and who's still standing when it clears

Everyone knows I'm in
Over my head
Over my head
With eight seconds left in overtime
She's on your mind
She's on your mind

It's interesting how many times I've listened to this song, made a video to it, and still never understood the full meaning of it until recently.

Something happened tonight. Something besides my lens falling out of my glasses into my lap and onto my car floor while driving. I got to "Strange Days" and had a great time....but it was more than that. I watched Mike McLean's film between musical acts. It was called "My (Argentina) Movie." I guess there's no point into getting into details on here, but I have to say, it really moved me....REALLY REALLY Moved me...

To travel, to film, to portray art and life with such truth and passion that it can touch so many people, to get out of this rut I'm in and have been all summer, to be with people who truly value my friendship, to draw, to animate, to live, to breathe, to sculpt, to love, to love, to LOVE, to hold no grudges, to be at peace with myself and those around me, to experience no drama in my life but the drama I perform and direct in theatre, to not care so much about money BUT to know that I should care about it as much as other humans because that's what makes us all the same - work, shelter, food, family, etc., to experience humility, to experience God, to experience life, to TRAVEL and bring a camera with me, to take more photography and share it with others like I did tonight, to just DO something, to create life (but not yet ;), to just be with those I love, to not take things seriously, to choose what to care about, to care about the WORLD and HUMANITY on a bigger level because we can make a difference, to get Bush out of office, to NOT CARE WHAT ANYONE THINKS, to be liberated, to be free, to be careless, to not be corrected, to be completely edit-less, to fucking soar above everything else but love, humanity, the world, and the elements, to repeat all of the above until my time is done on Earth...or until Earth is done in by global warming.

I cannot tell you how much this film and this entire night inspired me. The music, the films...and then closing with Morgan's film just fucking put the icing on the cake. He originally did this assignment for work, but it turned into something so much more...just a passionate collection of found images and footage of people all around the world...we are ONE SPECIES, ONE PLANET. I love his idea and I completely agree....it's to a Sigur Ros song and it just blows my mind everytime I watch it. I find something else I love every time I watch it. SO many wonderful things tonight.

I'm glad I didn't let my wisdom teeth pain get the best of me and allowed myself to experience this. So glad. I feel free.

Peace and love,
Brooke

So, my teeth really hurt still...it's funny, it's pretty much just one side. But it's still throbbing and hurting. I know it's only been two days, but now I've run out of painkillers, which weren't that strong to begin with. I wanted to avoid going back to the dentist, but my mom said I could just have it filled over the phone. But if it's not natural that my teeth hurt more today than they did yesterday, will they make me come in? Ugg.

I keep wondering if I have that "dry socket" thing, making it hurt more...but I doubt it. I think if the blood didn't clot, I'd know it. But they motherfucking hurt, and without medicine...idk.

I guess I'll just call them and ask if it's normal to still feel pain today...I'm assuming it's worse because I don't have medicine and it had nothing really to do with any sort of dry socket thing...grrrrrrrrr.

I also wish that I had woken up to take my last pill at 7am...I may have been feeling better right now if I did. But one pill doesnt really do anything.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Peace and love...and healing,
Brook

We found a home for the guinea pigs...ironically, its someone who works at MSU...crazzzzzy!

I'm finally home. I went to Alberts dinner with a huge headache and cut out before they all drove to the shore and to get good coffee...I just wanted to get home to see Ruby. She's eating on her own - kind of. Apparently, when I came home, she got much better and ate on her own for the first time...I hope she keeps it up. It all started with some godiva cappichino ice cream with chocolate hearts....she licked it and enjoyed that, so I just figured - give her food. Who really wants to eat out of an eye dropper anyway? And she did...this AM we're having some trouble, so I hope all remains good...:-/

please take our guinea pigs!

So, here's the deal until RA training starts:

-Going to Albert's goodbye dinner and then home today
-Getting my wisdom teeth out on Monday and recovering the rest of the week
-"Strange Days" Art and Music Fest that Morgan and Mike are throwing on Friday (hoping I'm fully recovered by then)...and hoping my photography will be shown
-possibly back at MSU for Sat/Sun...or home celebrating my Mom's Birthday
-House sitting in Vernon with Morgan and working until Wed.
-Back at MSU until I move to Alice Paul on the 20th.

Just in case you are wondering where I went, that's where. Things havent been so great the past week - I've constantly been sick w/a million different things...just stomach virus, these teeth, and now I feel like I'm getting bronchitis...whatever. It'll pass.

Also, I found out that my cat Ruby had a tumor in her mouth under her tongue...and it was cancerous. She can't even really eat right now, but she's acting happy. It really depresses me and I hope she's okay. She was MY first cat and I love her to death. She's one of the reasons I like going home so much. I'm hoping she starts eating and gets better...and that she gains some weight soon. Apparently, she's too thin to support her body. :( Please keep your fingers crossed for her. At least I get to see her today...as long as she's still okay.

In other animal news, we're giving away our guinea pigs because no one can take them in the Fall. It's a long story, but we thought we had everything set up and that if we had to, we could separate them for a while if someone couldn't take both. Now, we realize that they love each other too much to be separated. I posted a thing on craigslist, but I'd much rather someone that I know take them. Does anyone have any interest in taking them????? They're free and come with a cage, bedding, some hay, and the water bottle thing. It's unfortunate because I picked them up as a favor and then started to get attached, and now I have to see them go. :( If you know of anyone, please let me know. And also, I get bombarded with animal cruelty comments on craigslist enough, so if you don't have a constructive comment about taking them or finding them a home, I do not appreciate other comments. No negative ones allowed - I'm already depressed enough about my own cat and having to see these guys go too.

That's enough for now - gotta finish laundry.

Peace and love...wish me luck!
